2026年2月1日～7日、北九州市の学研都市において国際ワークショップ “KEYS 2026a Kitakyushu―Knowledge Exchange by Young Scholars 2026a: Global Disaster Controls and Technological Challenges”を開催しました。KEYSワークショップとは、環境問題の解決やグリーンシティーの創造あるいは地球規模での災害に対する対策に関する科学や技術開発に関わる若い研究者と若い世代をサポートする科学者・研究者らによる学術交流の場として、OECDが認定するグリーン成長都市である北九州・パリ・シカゴ・ストックホルムの都市名を冠した大学の研究者らが協力して2017年に発足させたワークショップシリーズで、これまでに北九州市、パリ市、ハノイ市で計11回開催されています。
以下、2026年2月に泥炭火災や林野火災の消火に関する技術開発など世界の災害に対する技術開発をテーマに北九州市で開催された“KEYS 2026aのプログラムおよび記録に開催されたKEYSワークショップの歴史についての記録（PDF資料）を公開します。

Report on the International Workshops Recently Hosted by the International Photosynthesis Industrialization Research Center (1): KEYS 2026a
From February 1 to 7, 2026, an international workshop “KEYS 2026a Kitakyushu—Knowledge Exchange by Young Scholars 2026a: Global Disaster Controls and Technological Challenges” was held in the Kitakyushu Science and Research Park (mainly at the Hibikino Campus of the University of Kitakyushu). The KEYS workshop series was launched in 2017 as a forum for academic exchange between young researchers (scholars) engaged in science and technology development to address environmental problems, create green cities, and develop countermeasures against global-scale disasters, and scientists and researchers who support the younger generation. It is a collaborative effort among researchers from universities named after the cities of Kitakyushu, Paris, Chicago, and Stockholm—all of which are Green Growth Cities certified by the OECD. To date, the series has been held a total of 11 times in Kitakyushu, Paris, and Hanoi.
Below, we are releasing the program and proceedings for “KEYS 2026a,” held in Kitakyushu in February 2026 with a focus on technological development for global disasters, including the development of technologies for extinguishing peat fires and forest fires, as well as a record of the history of the KEYS workshops (PDFs).
